Once again, it’s been too long since i was last able to blog.

So this time I wanted to blog about the programme that was on TV recently about fasting, and it’s benefits. As usual, you will get nothing but honesty from me!

For once, this type of programme hit the nail on the head…for the most part!

I have been using Fasting as a way of improving my clients health for a long time, and it does give very good results if done properly.

Yes fast IS good for, for numerous reasons as stated in the programme. It WILL make you lose weight, it WILL lower your LDL (Bad) Cholesterol, it WILL cause extra brain activity, and you CAN choose how often you fast.

The 3.5-4 day fast every couple of months is not recommended, as the benefits will only be short lived. The ADF (Alternate Day Fasting) is a good idea for those who have the mental strength to do it, however, the programme did give out the wrong advice with this one. The fasting day should be just that… a FASTING day, if you take on nutrients ina fasting day.. you are NOT fasting, you are simply missing meals. So in the fasting day you should eat nothing at all! Best Loser finished today!

Hey Everyone,

Well today was the final day of the first ever Best Loser course, and what a course it has been.

The clients in this course gained insight into true nutrition for weight loss, workout techniques, amongst other great things.

The winner was Rebecca, but for personal reasons she does not want her photo’s to be used, and because of her reasoning I will chose to respect her wish. Rebecca lost over 3 and a half stones, and over 7% body fat in only 12 weeks, as well as reducing her waist by 5 inches!!

This course has taken a small group of people from not being able to fully complete my fitness test, and having no confidence and being withdrawn from themselves and those around them, to giving them all the confidence they should have, and bringing their true personality and feelings out in the open, and I am proud of every single one of them!!

They went from being ill and not being able to fully complete the fitness test as I already said, to completing the fitness test 4 times in a row with only 1 minute rest between each within 6 weeks. By the end of the course, they were completing the test with less rest time and also with added sprints in between each exerc...

The Truth About Exercise - Fact or Fiction?

I have had numerous questions on a programme that was on TV about a month ago, where the subject was the truth about exercise, 3 minutes a week can give you the benefits of full time training… or so they said.

Quite frankly this is not true. The type of training they were talking about was HIIT (High intensity Interval Training), they claim is is a new type of exercise just discovered. In actual fact the type of training they were investigating was actually Tabatta training, and it is not new, PT’‘s (Personal Trainers) have been using this technique for YEARS!

You also saw that the man doing the program went up against an athlete and pulled his hamstring within seconds. This proves my next point. This type of training should only be done by people who are already in shape!

It should no be conducted by people with Heart problems, High Blood Pressure, Low Blood Pressure, Asthma (unless properly warmed up), unconditioned people (people not in shape, or not having done an exercise plan building into Tabatta training) and many other conditions would prevent people from doing this.

Long time no speak!

Hey Everyone,

I thought i would take a few minutes to write a blog. It has been a loooong time since I last wrote one, and I wanted to let you all know that I am still operating.

Business since the turn of the year (and indeed before that) has been absolutely mental. People are seeing the results that all my clients are getting, and they want a piece of the action!

I have recently launched York’s only Group Personal Training class – DB Body Blitz, which is taking off nicely! The class is aimed at all fitness levels from beginner to advanced. It utilised Hormone Manipulation for the benefits of true and effective weight loss, personalised supplementation (not protein powders etc, REAL supplementation), personalised programme design, nutrition programmes, workouts, flexibility.. the lot! Everything you would expect from a Personal Trainer!

Recently my beginners educational course The Best Loser took off, and it has done very well. These clients have now lost up to 3 stones in 10 weeks. What price would you pay for your health?

Hey Everyone!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a great (and healthy ish) festive season!

I thought I would write a quick blog, as something cropped up in my head when I was shopping the other day, and I ask you this question – What price would you pay for your health?

Supermarkets nowadays place everything they want you to buy at eye height (fact!). Next time you go, take a look at this and you’ll see that I am right! The problem is, the stuff they want you to buy is terrible for your body, but because it is so cheap, and often on offer (i.e buy 1 get 1 free) that people buy this stuff, and in truth, they don’t realise the damage they are doing to themselves!

The problem with buying this stuff is that people get used to eating rubbish, and the age old saying of you are what you eat is kinda true, though i want to change it slightly, you are what you DIGEST!

If you feed you body garbage with very little nutrients, you are going to feel garbage and will be malnourished! Malnourishment is not just something that affects little children in Africa and other poor regions, it is happing in our very own country, and indeed in York too!
